A national ceremony was organized by the Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power, Government of India, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on the occasion of Lineman Day.
Around 70 DISCOMs, 28 transmission companies, and 25 generation companies from across the country participated in this event. Among them, Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited, Jabalpur, was awarded the High-Performing DISCOM Award. Energy Minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar congratulated the company staff on this achievement.
The company received this award for providing safety kits to all line workers, continuously ensuring safety, stress management, mental and physical health training programs, organizing workshops and seminars, effectively implementing safety standards to minimize accidents, and offering better educational opportunities to employees. On behalf of the MD Anay Dwivedi, Chief General Manager (HR & Administration), Mrs. Neeta Rathore, received the award.
During the event, three linemen from the company were honored with the Excellence Award for their selfless service and dedicated efforts in ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers:
1. Anil Kushwaha – Muktiyarganj Distribution Center, Rewa Region
2. Prahlad Valadi – Dindori (Rural) Distribution Center, Shahdol Region
3. Azad Kumar Sakwar – City Division (East), Urban Circle, Jabalpur Region
This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to enhancing electricity supply, prioritizing employee safety, and fostering professional development.
